Searching with Ease: AI in UKG Community

In this episode, we're excited to share the new UKG Community search experience. AI-generated answers now appear at the top when you search the Community, summarizing your results and making the information you need easier than ever to find.

Savannah Guenthner: Hi everyone and welcome back to the Working Smarter Café pod. I’m your host, Savannah Guenthner, and today we’re digging into a new UKG Community feature. UKG is adding fresh AI features across many of its platforms this year, but there’s one place where all customers can expect AI to appear. The Community search engine now offers AI-generated answers to your burning questions. This feature provides quick summaries of the information you need in the UKG Community and in the Community Library.

Searches in the Community will continue to pull up the usual array of Knowledge Articles, Discussions, Groups, and more. Think of the Generated Answers as the icing on top of your search results. Rifling through thousands of results can feel overwhelming when you’re looking for a small detail, so to narrow them down a bit, you can always select boxes from the Resource Types and Product Solutions at the left of your screen. Doing so will also narrow down your AI and regular results, increasing accuracy and honing the summarized content down to cover exactly what you need. 

Everyone learns in different ways, and sometimes changing the format can help with taking in new information. The AI-generated responses you’ll find in the Community can be shown as bullet points for bite-sized info or as numbered steps. We like switching to these formats for when you need to quickly find a small yet crucial detail, or when you need a refresher on the steps to completing a process in your solution. 

Going through the new search process, but find yourself still feeling more comfortable doing your own research? No problem. We encourage you to verify important information by reviewing the sources of any generated answers. Also, you can always scroll past the AI answer to find all related materials from the UKG Community and Library below. Lastly, there’s the option to temporarily turn off the AI answers altogether. The toggle at the top right of the AI-generated answer box allows you to turn off the feature for as long as you’d like – the option to turn it back on will remain indefinitely.

We’re excited to share this new feature with you and can’t wait to hear about your experiences using it. To quickly provide feedback on a generated answer, you can use the thumb-up icon to indicate that the answer was helpful or the thumb-down icon to indicate it was not helpful. This will help us continuously refine the tool and better serve your needs.
